August 18, 2009
Today, 28 year old American named Albert Gonzalez stole 130 million credit card numbers from computer systems of five US companies including Hannaford, 7-Eleven, and Heartland Payment Systems, which is a credit card processing company.
He also committed crimes earlier. In 2003, he was a leader of a 4000-person hacking ring and became a US secret service informant. Later in 2008, he also stole data from restaurant chains.
